The historic site of Abergavenny cattle market is up for sale.

Monmouthshire County Council has placed an advertisement for the sale of the 4.2 acre site in the Estates Gazette. No price is given.

The council's plan to close the market and sell the site for development as a retail park with an Asda supermarket has been rigorously opposed by a number of protest groups. Asda pulled out of the plan in July.
