Update: Man who fell from Wye Bridge in Chepstow, now believed to be deceased

An extensive multi agency search of the water has been conducted after a man fell from the Wye Bridge, Chepstow yesterday afternoon.

Following consultation with experts and owing to the weather conditions and the passage of time, it is sadly now believed that the man who fell into the water is deceased and the active search of the water is now complete.

The death of the man is not being treated as suspicious.

It's believed the identity of the man has been established and Gwent Police family liaison officers are supporting the family at this difficult time
