AN INJURED man drove himself to

hospital last Tuesday (23rd December) after being slashed across the chest and arm.

Gwent Police is appealing for information following the roadside attack, which occurred at 11.30pm.

The victim was driving from Magor along St Bride's Lane when he came across two men acting suspiciously outside a parked white transit van.

He bravely challenged the pair about what they were doing, and one of the men attacked him with what is thought to be a small-bladed knife. Both offenders then left the area in the white transit van.

The injured man who is from the Caerwent area, drove himself to the Royal Gwent Hospital where he was treated for slash wounds but he has now been

discharged.

The offenders are described as white and in their early twenties with one wearing a snap cap (cap on backwards). Anyone with any information is asked to ring 101 or Crimestoppers anonymously on quoting log 490 23/12/14.
