A MAN has been injured after interrupting a burglary in Osbaston.

Three houses, one on Toynbee Close and two on Wallis Close, were burgled sometime between 6.10pm and 7.10pm on Monday evening (12th January).

A man living on Wallis Close became suspicious when he saw activity in his neighbour's house and noticed a car parked outside.

Knowing his neighbours were out, he went outside to see what was happening and tried to take a photo of the parked car. Several men then appeared from around the car.

He was then hit on the arm with a baseball bat and sprayed in the face with an unknown liquid which did not cause any harm. The man was taken to Nevill Hall Hospital as a precaution but did not suffer serious injuries.

The car is described as a black Lexus/ saloon type car. Its registration number was MF53 LZO but police have linked these to stolen number plates that were taken from a car in Orchard Avenue, Bulwark, Chepstow sometime between 4pm on Friday 9th January and 6pm on Monday 12th January.

It's believed there may have been about five men with the car. They have been described by the victim as white with Eastern European accents. Another individual reported seeing two men acting suspiciously in the area with Irish accents.
