A man has been arrested following a stabbing in Wyesham in the early hours of New Year's Day.

Police were called after an assault outside a property. The victim was taken to Nevill Hall Hospital in Abergavenny with neck injuries but released from hospital later that day.

A 39-year-old man was arrested and remanded in custody. He appeared at Caerphilly Magistrates Court on Monday (2nd January) charged with one count of wounding with intent.
