The petrol station on Cinderhill Street, Overmonnow has just had a major make-over as owner Susie Hawkins, of the Simon Smith Group, unveils her first Budgens forecourt in Wales. Susie has been running the forecourt for four years. The store is now re-named Budgens Overmonnow and today (Wednesday) Town Councillor Susan White will officially open the 2,915 square foot refurbished store. As well as stocking travellers essentials such as hot food to go, there's an on-site patisserie and you can get freshly made coffee (from beans, not instant). A "gondola" feature offers sandwiches, snacks and chilled drinks. Budgens Overmonnow also offers an excellent supermarket range including fresh fruit – ideal for healthy snacking on long journeys – fresh vegetables, ready meals, frozen food, groceries, household items, and the all important motoring accessories. The main shop area has a subtle and relaxing oatmeal theme. There's another surprise in store, as a "shop within a shop" offers the beers and wines alcove, stunningly designed with black ceiling and burgundy walls...in fact forecourts have never looked so stunning. Budgens own label fresh meat is British and all fruit and vegetables, when in season, are also British because Budgens firmly believe in supporting the British farmer and local producers. And when we say 'fresh' food, we mean it, because Budgens can deliver all products six days a week to all stores. The site has an ultra modern, futuristic carwash facility with the latest technology - "Washtec" equipment, an automatic carwash with state of the art, ultra high pressure brushless option. It's believed to be the highest specification carwash in the UK, so come down and try it! There are two Washtec Prisma Jetwashes with convenient to use overhead booms in light airy bays. So now there is no excuse for a dirty car. That's not all! Customers will also be able to drop off their dry cleaning, take advantage of the no-fee cash machine, pay their bills, top up their phones, get their lottery tickets and get their local and national newspapers and magazines. Opening Hours: 6am – 11pm, 7 days per week.
