Luke Jones, from Ross, is now 24 points ahead at the top of the British 125 GP Superbikes Championship after another podium finish with 2nd place in the 9th round at Mallory Park on Sunday. The weekend was marred by the bad weather which meant no practice on Friday and limited practice on Saturday. Therefore, grid positions were decided by Championship places and Luke had pole position. Luke was in 2nd position for long periods. The five leading riders kept swapping places. With two laps to go, Luke was in 4th with Kev Coghlan and Robbie Stewart battling for the lead. Kev slipped off and took Robbie down with him. Ashley Beech who was in the lead went on to win, while Luke maintained 2nd place until the chequered flag. Luke has 172 points in the Championship with Kev on 148 and Ashley is 3rd with 105. Luke's brother Dean, in the Yamaha R6 Media Cup
