The 2006 Flora London Marathon takes place on Sunday 23 April, and the Meningitis Trust - the UK's leading meningitis charity - is appealing for applicants to come forward now! Flora London marathon is now in its 26th year, every year more than 25,000 people from all over the world take part making London the biggest and undoubtedly the best marathon in the world! Jane Denley, Event Organiser at the Meningitis Trust said, " We're offering a great support package for 2006 and can assure anyone who chooses to run for us, that while the road will be long it certainly won't be lonely. "We offer full training and dietary advice, fundraising support, personalised running vest or t-shirt, post race reception and an all important post race shower and sports massage." The Flora London Marathon is one of the Meningitis Trust's biggest fundraising events. In the last two years alone the Trust's London Marathon team raised an amazing £400,000! The Meningitis Trust relies on funds raised from events such as this, which enable it to provide support services such as financial support grants, one-to- one contacts and a professional counselling service to sufferers of meningitis and their families.
