Awarded with an Order of the British Empire, (OBE) are:
• Trevor George Evans, for services to conservation and wildlife in Monmouthshire,
• Major Martin James Everett TD, pictured right, for services to the Royal Welsh Regimental Museum. The Museum was known as The South Wales Borderers Museum – the regiment's involvement in the Zulu war of 1879 is legendary – the modern regiment is 'The Royal Welsh'.
Martin, now aged 71, retired from the museum in March 2011 and has lived in Tintern for the last 40 years. He continues to undertake research to enhance the regimental archives.
• David John Harris, Divisional Managing Director at Cowlin Construction for services to education and training in the construction industry.
The Queen has also recognised Malcolm Wharton, Principal of Hartpury College, with a Commander of the Order of the British Empire (CBE) in recognition of his services to Further Education.
