Six further acts have been announced for Redbrook's Live on the Wye music festival, which takes place on 12th and 13th June and is sponsored by the Monmouthshire Beacon and Chepstow Beacon newspapers.
Stereosonics – a top quality tribute act – will headline the main stage. They play the length and breadth of the UK covering the Stereophonics' much loved songs. Siôn Russell Jones also joins the main stage line-up. Siôn is a singer songwriter from Cardiff who's unique and infectious vocals are backed up with intricate guitar melodies. His latest single, So Long, has received extensive radio play.
Meanwhile, Ragsy, Hi Hat and A Body of People have been confirmed for the Wye River stage. Ragsy's debut album Ouch!!! draws inspiration from real life experiences and was crafted over a two-year period following his appearance on BBC's The Voice. Hi Hat is a multitalented producer, DJ, vocalist and one-man sound system hailing from Bristol. He mixes soulful vocals, break beats and spontaneity, together with funky keyboard improvisation and live looping. Coming from Kingston, A Body of People combine post punk with a folky undertone.
Rock Choir will also join the bill. An amateur contemporary choir, they have 16,000 members across the UK and sing to their own arrangements of pop, Motown and chart. Over 30 local members are expected to take part in the performance.
Together, they join several acts already announced, including John Adams, Clyde Jefferson, Broken Fires, The Wow Signal and Maddie Jones.
The festival's music organiser, Jon Sheasby, said: "We are hugely excited to be welcoming bands of the calibre of Stereosonics and Siôn Russell Jones to Redbrook. It promises to be an outstanding line-up of top quality music."
The festival will also host the Creative Mindz tent for a second year, offering even more activities for youngsters.
Creative Mindz is a not-for-profit venture that aims to encourage young people to embrace their creativity through art and performance.
This year, festival-goers visiting the Creative Mindz tent will discover new free-running demonstrations and workshops, in addition to an art area, drawing class, face painting and fancy dress. The inflatable combat game and bouncy castle will also return for this year. It means that little ones should be entertained throughout the day, come rain or shine.
Natasha Cadman, founder of Creative Mindz, said: "We are a passionate and enthusiastic team whose mission is to engage young people in music, dance, drama, photography and art. We're excited to host the children's area at the festival for what will be a fun and exciting programme."
Festivities will start on Friday 12th June with a number of acts playing the Fringe Event at The Bell Inn. A total of 15 top quality bands are billed across the two days, with Stereosonics, a popular UK tribute act, and Siôn Russell Jones, a critically acclaimed singer songwriter, headlining the Main Stage.
There will also be award-winning local food, Kingstone Brewery craft ales, a crafts market and riverside camping.
Early bird tickets can be purchased at last year's price of £5 per adult until Sunday 31st May, after which prices increase to £8. Children aged 12 and under can enter the festival field free when accompanied by a paying adult, however entry to the children's entertainment carries a charge of £3 for all day unlimited access.
