A litter pick group was helped with their usual regular sessions by staff from a Monmouth store as part of their ‘Live Love Local’ week.
Two and four-legged volunteers from ‘White Stuff’ took part in the Sunday morning event with equipment supplied by the town’s Litter Group and managed to bag nine bags full of rubbish from just one small area!
Jim Handley, who runs the group with his wife Pat said: “The Litter Response Team in Monmouth is a group of volunteers who do a regular collection of litter every four weeks around the town. This last Sunday we were very pleased to have the extra help from the staff and friends of White Stuff. The town ditch area looks a lot better after nine bags of rubbish was collected.”
Gemma Carter, with two colleagues from the Monmouth store along with their families and friends said “This was a really brilliant experience meeting lots of the locals and engaging with them on the way.
“We hope by doing this and advertising this locally it has raised awareness of our Live Love Local week in store”.
If anyone would like to help the team in future, get in touch with Jim on 01600 715427 or [email protected].
Their next litter pick is on 2pm on Sunday 4th March meeting up in the car park near the bus station.
