Would some qualified scientist assess the efficiency, in environmental terms, of a lorry of some 10 tons gross weight, driving to Somerset, 130 miles return, for composting garden waste? 80 per cent of the 'payload' will be water. Apparently current practice.

Dumped locally, nature would rot it down. A relation of mine saved milk bottle tops, but flew to Greece for a weekend break.
