On Saturday Usk visited Hartridge for a Division 5 game. The home team started the better and soon went into a six-point lead through two penalties. Before half time, Usk pulled back three points with a penalty from John Green.

At the start of the second half, Andy Peginton broke through a number of tackles to score a fine individual try in the corner to give Usk an eight points to six lead.

As they have done too often this season, Usk immediately conceded a try which was duly converted to give Hartridge a five-point lead. Both sides tried hard for further scores, but there was much scrappy play. With the time ticking away, Hartridge had a lineout near their own line, and managed to miss their own jumper and throw to Owen Jones, who obliged with a try for Usk to level the scores at 13 points each.
