RESCUERS rushed to Ross-on-Wye’s Rope Walk last last night (Thursday, June 19) after reports of a man in the river.

The alert happened just before midnight, with fire and rescue crews, boats, a drone and a search and rescue dog involved in the hunt for a man in his 30s following concerns for his safety.

It soon transpired that the man had already made it back to dry land, and he was attended to by police.
