SIR

Through your pages, I would like to draw the attention of Monmouthshire County Council to the lack of dropped kerbs at the back of the Co-op supermarket.

Any disabled or elderly persons using the pedestrian crossing has only the dropped kerb into the car park to get off that pavement.

Anyone wishing to go to the bus station has to negotiate the high kerb either side of the entrance to the car park. I have witnessed a number of elderly people having difficulty crossing with near disastrous results.

The pavement opposite has partially collapsed, making it now quite hazardous for anyone to negotiate their way from that area.

Can someone please look into this before an accident happens?
