MADAM,

These last few weeks political discussions have abounded everywhere I’ve visited.

People have re-joined the Labour party in their droves and a real sense of optimism has been in the air. So I can’t help but be excited by the fact that Jeremy Corbyn is now Labour Party leader. He has re-ignited political debate and connected with young people in a way other leaders have failed to do.

Jeremy has a strong mandate from our members and I believe now all of us - from the loftiest shadow cabinet ministers to the rank and file of the party - should respect the democratic process and unite behind him.

The next few weeks will be extremely important as his agenda becomes clearer. My own view is that here on the ground in the Monmouth Constituency we need strong links with businesses to ensure our local economy grows, we need to encourage investment and new jobs and we must invest in education and health.
