A calendar of events already planned for this summer in Monmouth was reviewed at a meeting of interested people from the Town Council, Shire Hall, Royal Naval Association and Monmouth Rotary Club last Thursday, (2nd February).
Any other interested parties are invited to a meeting on Thursday 16th February, at 6.30pm at The Royal Oak in Hereford Road, Monmouth.
Representatives from any group with an interest in organising their own street party, or event are welcome to attend this meeting to help make this a summer to remember for Monmouth.
Chepstow Town Council approved proposed plans to celebrate the Queen's Diamond Jubilee in a recent meeting.
The plans, proposed by the Diamond Jubilee Working Party and discussed in a council meeting on 25th January, are for two separate events.
The first is for a Beacon Lighting Ceremony on Monday 4th June at Thornwell Rugby Club.
Musical entertainment and refreshments will also be available.
The second event is for Tuesday 5th June.
1952-2012, Chart Toppers at the Bandstand will also celebrate the birth of the UK pop charts and will host music at the bandstands with games for children provided.
Both events have been approved by the council.
