JEREMY Clarkson has fuelled speculation that he could open a second pub after responding to a suggestion that he take on a site at Symonds Yat East.

The Clarkson’s Farm presenter was alerted to the Wyeside opportunity after a social media user suggested the popular tourist destination could be an ideal location for another hostelrie.

The user highlighted that a significant part of Symonds Yat East was on the market, describing it as a “beautiful part of the country” before suggesting Clarkson could run another pub there.

The £6.75m package includes the Royal Lodge Hotel, Wye Rapids House, the Weir House and the Saracens Head Inn, right beside the Swiss chalet featured in Netflix hit series Sex Education.

Clarkson then reshared the post on X with the simple response “Hmmm”, prompting speculation among fans that he could be interested in the idea.

No plans for a purchase or second pub have been announced and Clarkson’s response gave no indication that he was seriously considering the site.

However, a move to Symonds Yat would put the television presenter’s pub business within easy reach of both Monmouth and the Forest of Dean.

The riverside village is one of the Wye Valley’s best-known visitor destinations, attracting walkers, canoeists and tourists throughout the year, while the wider Symonds Yat area straddles the Herefordshire and Gloucestershire border.

Clarkson opened his first pub, The Farmer’s Dog, near Burford in Oxfordshire in August 2024 after buying the former Windmill pub.

The venture has subsequently featured on his Amazon Prime series Clarkson’s Farm and has attracted large numbers of visitors, with the pub placing a strong emphasis on British produce.

Clarkson recently admitted running both a farm and pub had created an unusual dilemma, with sunny weather benefiting the pub but causing problems for farming, while rain could have the opposite effect.
