HABERDASHERS Monmouth school pupils have donned their aprons to take part in Jamie Oliver’s attempt to make history with the largest cookery school ever.
The record attempt is supported by Jamie’s long term technology partner, Wonde, a global school data management specialist.
Haberdashers Monmouth School joined the record-breaking efforts in Monmouth taking to the kitchen alongside 10,000 people around the world as they attempt to cook fresh pasta and a no-cook pasta sauce from Jamie’s 10 skills programme.
The record attempt celebrated Jamie’s 10 skills programme, which provides secondary schools across the nation with essential food education, nutrition and budgeting materials and has been developed with food educators across the UK.

The programme is designed around the 10 core skills Jamie believes every 16-year-old should be able to leave education with, to not just survive, but thrive.
The participants were invited to join via a zoom link, and it was led by Jamie’s Head Cookery School chief Dimo Cerrone with Jamie attending too.

The event saw those taking part taking part in an hour long session of ‘joyful cooking’.
The current record is held by the Partnership for Health in Poland, with 6,778 participants in 2015.
Jamie and the rest of the team hope to smash the record with already 10,000 applicants who have applied.
Participants have come from all over the world including Malaysia, USA, Mauritius, South Africa, India, Slovenia, Portugal, Australia and all over the UK.

Anyone in the world could have signed up to participate in the event from schools, a workplace, individual, family or friends.
To have taken part in the event there needed to be 15 or more people cooking together with one independent witness and one steward per 50 participants.
Everyone had to stay for the full class otherwise they wouldn’t be a record breaker with finishing with an edible pasta dish.
