A 34 year old woman who seduced a 13 year old boy was caught because his friends used a mobile phone to film the pair having sex, a court was told last week. Mum of two, Ruth Lee of Rudhall View, Ross, was jailed for fifteen months after she admitted having sex with the boy on two consecutive nights. She claimed she was so drunk she had not realised that the boy's pals were videoing the second encounter. Lee, who admitted a charge of having sexual activity with a child, claimed she had not realised how young the boy was the first time they had sex on Valentine's Day this year, but on the second occasion she realised he must be under age because of his inexperience. Jailing Lee at Gloucester crown court, Judge Martin Picton branded her a 'deviant' and told her: "Stupid boys need to be protected from themselves. What you did was deviant and wrong - the boy's mother is deeply ashamed because the footage was shown to a great many people." Prosecutor, Derek Ryder, told the court that Lee knew the boy - who was a neighbour in Gloucester - and they met up one night, went back to her house and had full-sex. The boy then bragged to his friends about the encounter with the much older woman and the following night he and his gang showed up at Lee's place. Drunk, she welcomed them in and again went upstairs to have sex with the boy. But this time the act was caught on a mobile-phone camera, held by one of the boy's mates. It was only when the short film clip was played back and one of the parents of the group heard of it that the sordid events came to light. Ms Lee said the boys came over and she agreed to have sex with the boy but only with a condom. He went upstairs with her, with his trousers around his bottom. She said she didn't know anything about the video and couldn't remember anyone else being there. "The Crown went ahead with only one charge because they had to accept her claim that she thought he was 16 on the first night," Mr Ryder said. "By the second night she said she thought he was about 14 or 15 and knew that it was wrong." Lee, 44, formerly of Hales Road, Gloucester pleaded guilty to a charge of sexual activity with a child on February 15th this year. Nick Fridd, defending, said: "It's not all black and white. It appears there was a certain amount of encouragement from the victim and his friends. "She felt pushed towards it on both occasions. She feels she was set up because she was not popular locally. Her 13 year old daughter has now been taken into care and her son, aged 16, has also moved out. She's lost everything. It's an awful punishment to live with. Ms Lee admits she was drunk and she's very sorry for what happened." Judge Picton said: "A thoroughly sordid and picture emerges of your house on those two nights. Sober, you would never have thought he was 16. You clearly have no understanding of the boundaries that need to be respected in normal life." Lee will serve half her sentence before being released on licence.
