Hundreds of weeping mourners gathered at Grosmont Church last Thursday (16th September) to pay their respects to Monmouthshire teenager Jack McKenzie.

An over-flowing nave bared witness to a very moving ceremony which had been designed completely by Jack's family and friends.

Around 150 people who were unable to get into the church were able to listen to the moving service from outside, via a loudspeaker.

Opening with one of Jack's favourite songs, Nas featuring Quan's 'Just a Moment', the music summed up the thoughts of so many mourners with the lyrics "As day comes and night falls, for the rest of our lives we'll miss y'all, and even though life must go on, we'll still mourn, while wishing y'all were home".

Reverend Dr Jean Prosser welcomed Jack's family and friends to the service, ensuring everyone that Jack is now in God's capable hands.
