Sir,

Crest Construction, building on the old infant school site in Wyesham, claim to be "considerate constructors".

Wyesham Road floods after heavy rain. The site was originally mainly field but now it's tarmaced, and the beautiful willow which would have soaked up the water has thoughtfully been chopped down.

The foundations of the first houses built were deep in water after heavy rain, so flooding will increase. These same houses open directly onto the pavement via steep steps. Future occupants will have a wonderful view of the increased traffic, while young children have easy access to a busy road.

Houses have been built high and as close as possible to those in the cul-de-sacs off Hilicrest, completely obscuring their occupants view of the Kymin. Apparently flats are planned for the top of the site, backing onto the gardens of the bungalows, ensuring those residents also lose their view and privacy.

If this is "considerate construction", what would inconsiderate deliver?

Obviously no thought has been given to the effect of this development on the established neighbourhood or the local environment.

One can only hope that proposed future development plans – such as Tudor Road – come under much more stringent scrutiny before being approved.
