SIR,

Isn't it sad to see high streets all across the UK lose their distinctiveness and individuality as they succumb to corporate uniformity and end up all looking the same?

What a relief, then, that this isn't happening to Monmouth.

Why, in Monnow Street at present we've got messrs 'Arks and Spencer Simply Foo', 'Othy Perkins', 'ill', 'Uperdrug', 'Eacocks', and 'New Lo'.

It's nice to be distinctive, isn't it?
