SIR,

Having seen the recent media coverage of Councillor Fox bemoaning the WAG contribution to Monmouthshire County Council, I was caused to wonder how things might seem from the point of view of a WAG minister.

Would you give more money to a council which:

Has overspent £2.6 million on the Monnow Bridge?

Has ignored potential savings in excess of £250 thousand per year with a waste policy which directly contradicts your advice?

Is facing three possible legal actions regarding Waste, Abergavenny Market, and Hill College with potential for considerable cost of time and money?

When the time comes will the referee of public opinion be reaching for a yellow card to put those responsible on the side lines for four years?
