Monmouth Bowls club season continues with some impressive wins against better rated opposition.
Most impressive was Saturday's whitewash of Ynysddu. The rain held off long enough for the green to dry out and Monmouth were able to play their first MBA game against a club which only two seasons ago was in division one.
With some of their more experienced players not available Monmouth knew it was going to be hard to achieve a satisfactory result. On rink five Tony Parker, Bob Hebron, Clive Hawkins and Rex Green raced into an early lead and by half way they were 17 -2 in the lead. Despite dropping a few shots they finished with an impressive score of 24 -7.
