Local boy Huw Eriksson, a recent graduate from Exeter University's affiliate Camborne School of Mining, has been headhunted to work in Queensland, Australia, as a Mines Inspector- making him the world's youngest Mines Inspector, and the world's first graduate recruit to Mines Inspection!
Huw, who was at Monmouth School and then at Hereford Sixth Form College, always knew he was interested in geology and archaeology; his father Carl commenting "we always said when he was growing up, that there was coal straight through him".
Huw enrolled at Camborne School of Mining at Falmouth in Cornwall, which is an affiliate of the University of Exeter, to study Mining Engineering. Camborne is the world's premier mining school, and Huw graduated four years later with a BEng in Mining Engineering.
