COULD you give a plucky rescue a second chance?

The British Hen Welfare Trust is holding a hen rehoming day in Trellech on 9th October, giving hundreds of young hard-working hens a second chance after a life in battery farming.

Three lucky hens saved from slaughter by the British Hen Welfare Trust are pictured making the most of their free range retirement in the sun.

Fanny, Gloria and June were adopted from one of the charity’s re-homing points at 18 months old.

They were due to go to slaughter but were three of the lucky ones re-homed by the British Hen Welfare Trust.

There will be hundreds of hens looking for their retirement homes on that date, and anyone able to re-home some is urged to call the charity as soon as possible. If you can give a hen a happy home all you need to do is make sure you register on the BHWT’s website at www.bhwt.org.uk and then call 01884 860084.
