The Society for the Welfare of Horses and Ponies (SWHP) has won £6,250 to help fund a much-needed isolation unit.
The charity, based at St Maughans, is the Welsh Border winner of the NatWest Community Force Award.
SWHP is known for its work in carring out often dangerous rescues of many abandoned and abused horses and ponies.
The poor animals are cared for at SWHP's Critical Care Centre, rehabilitated and placed in loving, caring foster homes where they remain under the protection of the society.
SWHP would like to thank NatWest for running the Community Force project and all its supporters who took the time to vote.
With the long winter months ahead, the busiest time for SWHP, the new Isolation Unit will be a huge asset to the work carried out by the society.
