A scene of devastation at Raglan's Sticky Fingers Playgroup after a Range Rover ploughed straight through the Crawley Hall, Bryngwyn, stopping at the stage.

Fortunately, the accident occurred on a Saturday morning when the building was empty.

Playgroup organiser Emma Rae Woods said: "Luckily nobody was in the building but the playgroup equipment was completely wiped out."

New premises had to be found for the Playgroup, which meets every weekday, and new equipment sought.

Thankfully, the Early Years team at Monmouthshire County Council (Sharron Burridge and Sally Jones) jumped to the rescue liaising with many schools and playgroups to generously donate tables and chairs, toys, craft equipment etc.

"We are very grateful for all the help and kindness shown," Emma added.

"Penyclawdd and Llangovan Village hall committee were very helpful and enthusiastic to house us, which has resulted in Sticky Fingers now meeting every weekday from 9.15am – 1.15pm.

"Any parents interested in coming along to see us please call 07906218324."
