BIKERS WILL BE PLEASED to learn that Hoggin' the Bridge will be returning to Chepstow this year on Sunday 17th October, despite many rumours that it would no longer be running.
Problems arose when 'Uncle Rod', the local Hog co-ordinator, hung up his organisational helmet, along with the police withdrawing their support for local events soon after.
This was to the dismay to both the public and the bikers, so after gentle persuasion, 'Uncle Rod' was dragged out of retirement to be the consultant and ex-police sergeant Walt Waters organised a group of maverick Hogs who have come on board to help Chepstow Marketing organise this year's event.
With the police withdrawing their support, help will be needed from voluntary organisations to marshal at strategic points around the route as well as at the car parks in town. Help will also be required to assist with 'crowd control' as the bikes enter the High Street.
Any organisations who would like to get involved in helping out at this fantastic event which raises so much money for local charities should contact Jacqui Sullivan on 07981 26224, or email [email protected]">[email protected].
