Following last Saturday's 1-1 draw with Cirencester 'B', Ross Men's 1st XI became 2007/08 winners of the N4 Financial Solutions Hereford and Gloucester League Division Two. In his first year as Team Captain, Tom Walton was quick to pay tribute to the collective effort that had contributed to the success: "I am really proud of all of the players. It is an amazing feat to go through the whole league programme without losing a single match". Top scorer for Ross was popular local entrepreneur Adrian Williams. He echoed Tom's sentiments when he told the Gazette "It is not about me but the team, I just complete what the rest of the team put together". However, he went to add "I would also like to claim that it is about taking part, for me though sport like life is about winning and I am thrilled by the team's achievement". Following this success, Ross will compete next year in Hereford and Gloucester League Division One. "This will be a new challenge" says Tom "and the team and I are looking forward to it already".
