SIR, Easter Sunday for the majority was a wet and miserable day but that did not deter over 60 folks from flocking into the Narth Village Hall, where a high tea was organised to help raise funds for Lucy Bowen's project to build classrooms in Ruhanga development school in Uganda. Lucy will be going to teach English to pupils there. Lucy is a native of the Narth but is studying to become a primary school teacher at Winchester University. The afternoon was a huge success with plenty of delicious savories and sweets to choose from and as much tea as was required. The raffle helped to swell the funds and a grand total of £740 was collected. Lucy was overwhelmed with the afternoon and thanked all concerned for their hard work and all who came to make the afternoon such a lovely occasion. Apologies must go to members of the Boycott family as they had a higher tea than others as the floor space was full to capacity and they had to partake of their tea on the stage . Good wishes go to Lucy for the future. Sally Welsh (The Narth)
