Here at the Beacon office we have been inundated with calls and pictures from readers, who have been keen to share their knowledge on the cause of the strange white candyfloss-like covering that is cropping up on greenery all over Monmouthshire and beyond.
The majority of people are laying the blame for the substance firmly at the door of the ermine moth, which is from the Yponomeutidae family, and has several hundred various species.
