Lettravane Farm at Newcastle near Skenfrith provided a wonderful setting for the annual Llangattock Hedging Match held last Saturday, thanks to the owners, the Davies family.
Demonstrating the traditional skill of hedgelaying, the competitors tackled a young hawthorn hedge that had been planted around 10 years ago. Competition was fierce with just a few points separating the competitors in the Open Class.
Overall Champion of the day was Russ Jones of Maes-y-Cwmmer, Hengoed. Judge was Brian Edwards.
