HEAVY traffic has been reported on the A40 Southbound around the A466 Monmouth traffic lights after an accident this morning (7th February).

A spokesperson for Gwent Police said: "At approximately 4:50am on Tuesday 7th January we were called to reports of a single vehicle road traffic collision on the A40 in Monmouth.

"There were no life threatening injuries."

Queues were also reported on the A466 through Chepstow, with a high volume of slow moving traffic.

One lane is closed on M48 Severn Bridge Westbound for maintenance. It closed at 7am this morning and will reopen at 5pm this evening.
