THE Trust for Sick Children in Wales presented a cheque for £15,000 to Paediatric Services at Aneurin Bevan University Health Board which will go towards the the benefit of both parents and children.

The grant will be used to improve a family room on the children’s ward at Nevill Hall Hospital, and for the purchase of a saturation monitor and high flow oxygen machine.

At the Royal Gwent, the children’s activity room will be improved through redecoration and additional equipment.

Mobile tables on stands will be purchased for the Neonatal Unit, enabling absent family members to view babies through video calls, and parents to access helpful information and recommended reading.

A ‘cold cot’ will be purchased for community use, to help support families after the loss of a child by enabling them to spend longer, precious time with their loved one.

Celia Satherley, Paediatric Service Manager at the Health Board said; “We are most grateful for this donation and would like to thank The Trust for Sick Children in Wales for their interest and generosity.”
