WHITEBROOK residents have been presented with a Welsh Hearts defibrillator for their village.
Villagers worked hard to raise funds for the maintenance of the defibrillator by hosting a village hall barbecue, quiz evenings and talks.
They raised money towards this and it will be situated for village and public use.
Three professionals from Welsh Hearts came to the village in July and gave a well attended cardiac resusitation demonstration.
The audience were able to practice these skills on dummies following a talk, video and practical demonstration.
Whitebrook will continue fund raising towards the maintenance of the defibrillator, and also to donate some funds towards this very worthwhile charity.
The device will be situated in an easily accessible place and will be logged into the Welsh Ambulance Service so that a 999 call will inform the caller of its whereabouts.
