SIR, I am writing to ask your readers to look out for our very special cat 'Oscar'. He is medium-sized and part Maine Coon. He is long-haired, ginger with white socks and a white beard. He is very intelligent, quite timid but purs readily. Unfortunately he escaped only three days after coming to live with us from North Devon. He managed to jump up and unlatch the door. He is particularly precious to us as my daughter gave him to my mother, who became too unwell to look after him and my mother has since passed away. We are very concerned for his welfare as although he is used to spending much of his time outside he is in completely unfamiliar surroundings and we would not be surprised if he has travelled miles even as far as Chepstow. Any information on his whereabouts would be much appreciated whether to the Beacon or 07771 604456 or 01600 780583. (Name and address supplied)
