SIR,

I would like to say 'thank you' to the residents on the Rockfield estate for their generosity towards children on Monday night (31st October).

I accompanied three children round the houses, and with only one exception (and this person politely told the children that the household didn't 'do' Hallowe'en), they were greeted with smiles and friendly banter before being given sweets.

There were many groups of children out in fancy dress – all clearly having fun.
