GWENT Wildlife Trust (GWT) eagerly welcomes photographers to take part in the annual GWT Photography Competition 2015 which will be launched this Saturday (15th August).
Judges are looking forward to another extraordinary display of photographic talent from the public and GWT members. The trust is already gearing up to cover their office walls with this year’s offerings.
The competition is very straightforward – limited to a single entry per person, there are two categories: over 16s and under 16s. The photograph needs to have been taken in Gwent, at any time, based on the theme of wildlife or living landscapes.
Rachael Daniels from GWT, said: “We are always bowled over by the high quality of the photos submitted. The entries demonstrate a great deal of skill and, in many cases, huge amounts of patience. It shows how committed folk are to observing and recording the wonderful wildlife in Gwent.”
All entries impress and delight GWT but last year’s winning photographs by Gavin Vella of a swift in flight and Cerys Barclay of a dewy spider web particularly impressed the judges. GWT very much look forward to another great competition in 2015.
Entries should be sent via email to: photocomp@gwen
twildlife.org.
More information about the competition is available on their website at: www.gwentwildlife.org/how-you-can-help/photography-competition
The closing date is Monday 31st August and shortlisted photographers will be invited to GWT’s Annual General Meeting on Wednesday 16th September where the overall winners in each category will be announced.
