Gwent Police were around Wyesham on Monday May 27 to assess and monitor the speed of vehicles in the area.

The Police have received reports of motorists speeding along the roads and have been monitoring speeds, accessing the situation specifically on Wyesham Road in Monmouth.

According to Gwent Police, Monmouthshire Officers they said: “We will be continuing to monitor this and urge motorists to think about their manner of driving and stick to the speed limit of 20 mph.”

Data which was published on January 30 by the Welsh Government said since the 20mph and 30mph road speed limits were put in place within the first 12 months there were around 100 fewer people killed or seriously injured.
