AN outbreak of graffiti has occurred in Monmouth.

Officials in town are anxious today (1st April) to trace three males, seen painting postal boxes and historic monuments.

The group were spotted on CCTV on Priory Street, Agincourt Square, Monnow Street and Cinderhill street.

The first is of average height, dressed in red, and with a white beard.

His accomplices have been described as being short in height, and of a helpful disposition.

The official in charge of the investigation said: "We were first alerted of their presence after a number of people complained of a loud 'ho ho ho' coming from the street.

"Investigations are ongoing, but we admit that the items targeted have looked much smarter since the event".
