UNDY Community Primary School has been graded as 'good' by the education inspectorate, Estyn.

The school of 256 pupils and 42 part time nursery pupils, impressed inspectors with "good standards" and an "interesting and varied programme of learning".

The report, published on Friday 8th May, described how "pupils' attitudes to learning are positive and nearly all participate enthusiastically in the wide range of activities the school offers".

It also praised teachers for their: "Consistently high expectations of pupils' behaviour and work, and the stimulating indoor and outdoor environment to creatively enhance learning".

Estyn recommended that the school improves standards in maths and works to strengthen links with parents and carers.

Also receiving the thumbs up from Estyn, is Chepstow Leisure Centre Playgroup.

The inspectorate's report on the group was published last Friday (15th May) and also categorises the nursery as 'good'.

The group cares for 26 three and four year olds and is run by a voluntary committee.
