A charity golf day in aid of Guide Dogs for the Blind has raised enough money to fund its fourth puppy.

Hawthorn Pet and Animal Supplies were sponsors of the event and will be naming this year's puppy.

The event took place on 16th September at the Forest Hills Golf Club, where 22 teams participated. The winning team was South Western Tubes.

Branch secretary Lesley Maclean said: "We are very grateful to everyone who helped us make the day such a success.

"It costs £5,000 to name a puppy and fund its first year of training.

"Hawthorns have always been very supportive of Guide Dogs and we are delighted that they will have the chance to think of a name for the puppy."

Next year's charity golf day will be on 14th September.
