A coffee morning at Tabletop Sale was hosted at Tŷ Price St Thomas’ Community Hall in aid of the M.P.S society on May 17.

They raised £380 after the event in two hours. A group of friends raised funds for Megan Rennoldson who suffers with Alpha Mannosidosis as well as helping to raise awareness.

They raised fund to help support Megan’s continuation of a weekly infusion which she needs to keep her well and the on-going support by the M.P.S nursing team and organisation.

Megan Rennoldson said: “I want to let people know about MPS and what it is, if I struggle my dad is always there to help me.”

Peter Rennoldson, Megan’s dad said: “Because it's an unknown illness, some of them can’t talk and they are in wheelchairs, but they all have Alpha Mannodisdosis.”

“Showing our awareness is helping people when they need help, donations is the main thing and being courteous.”

Past Mayor of Monmouth, Councillor David Evans said: “I had never heard of MPS until I had met Megan at an event down at Bridges”.

“Bridges is one of my charities and Megan was helping out with the afternoon tea and she helps out at the bridges charity shop.”

“It is life restricting and the more education there is about anything which affects people like that, well it can only be for the good.”

Megan visited Australia where she held a koala bear and fed a baby kangaroo, and to Spain where she told her story to 500 scientists who helped to make an enzyme for her and others who suffer with MPS.
