This August, Transition Monmouth, in partnership with Monmouth Community Fridge and with funding from Monmouthshire County Council, is offering free pizza to everyone in the local community. The event provides a chance to enjoy a delicious, nutritious meal while connecting with others in the area.

The free pizza will be available at the Community Hub at Kymin View Primary School on 12th, 26th, and 29th August, between 12pm and 2pm (while stocks last). The distribution will be in a simple ‘grab & go’ style, making it easy to pick up a meal and take it home.

Each session will offer 100 French bread pizzas, made with added nutritional ingredients, and accompanied by boxed fruit juices. When available, there will also be cups of salad or fruit from the Monmouth Community Fridge’s surplus stock.

The event is open to all – families, friends, and individuals are all welcome to come along. Please note that children must be accompanied by an adult, and there will be no car parking available on the school site. The school itself will remain closed, with pizza available as takeaway only.

This initiative is made possible through the Community Food Grant funded by Monmouthshire County Council, aimed at supporting community-based projects and making nutritious food more accessible for all. The partnership with Monmouth Community Fridge helps reduce costs by using surplus food, ensuring the project remains environmentally sustainable.

So, whether you’re looking for a quick bite or simply want to connect with your community, come and grab a free pizza – we look forward to seeing you there!

Transition Monmouth was set up to tackle, through community engagement, the myriad problems created by climate change. In the face of declining natural resources, we aim to create a low carbon, resilient community.
