An investigation by Canadian police led to the discovery of more than 2,000 indecent images of children on a Monmouthshire man's computer.
Victor Bignell, now of Western Road, Gloucester, is a former Savoy Trust director who helped oversee the refurbishment of the theatre in 2004.
The 73-year-old was sentenced to two years in prison at Newport Crown Court last week and will serve half that sentence before being released on licence.
At an earlier hearing, Bignell had pleaded guilty to two counts of distributing indecent images of children, one of possessing indecent images of children and nine of making indecent images of children.
He also admitted possessing 2,226 indecent images of children – some as young as 18 months – and two counts relating to the possession of 858 'extreme pornographic images'.
Last Thursday (8th December), Bignell entered guilty pleas to five counts of making indecent images of children between 11th January and 31st December 2010.
