THE Monmouthshire Food Festival returns to the glorious surroundings of Caldicot Castle this 10th and 11th October with a busy programme of demonstrations, talks, tutored tastings, children’s workshops and lots of food and drink to try.
The Demonstration theatre features a number of the finest chefs from Monmouthshire’s hotels and restaurants. Between them they boast many top awards including AA Rosettes and the Good Food Guide. They will be using local fresh produce in their dishes wherever possible.
Chefs from the Royal Navy will also be taking part, as they prepare and cook lots of dishes they would serve on board ship or in submarines. They will also feature how ration packs are used by the Royal Marines when deployed or on exercise.
The producers market has a wide range of products to try and buy. Talk to the people who know their products best. Stay for lunch or buy some tasty treats for a picnic in the Country Park.
The Look and Learn theatre hosts a wide range of talks, tutored tastings and demonstrations by a number of our producers. Find out all about the food and drink that tempts the palate.
The Children’s Quarter will keep young foodies busy with lots of food related workshops. Bring along an adult to share in the fun.
Monmouthshire Food Festival’s sponsor St. Pierre Marriott will be present with tempting treats for the gents and a little pampering for the ladies. Come and see what they have on offer for the Christmas season.
