We left Monmouth 40-plus years ago when my husband's work moved to Swindon.
We come back often to see relatives as it will always be home to us.
It was a shock to see the choice of flag flying from the now very smart Shire Hall.
There is a sign on the road into Monmouth – 'Welcome to Wales' – people benefit from the Welsh Assembly with free prescriptions etc,Welsh is taught in the schools so where is the Welsh flag?
When I was in school 65 years ago I was taught a welsh song which I sing with pride to my grandchildren. My husband played rugby for Newport with pride so can we please see the Welsh flag flying from the Shire Hall with pride?
