SIR,
Only last week, the new Year 7 students of Monmouth Comprehensive School, took their first tentative steps into their new learning environment with a mixture of excitement and nervousness. When a group of children, who previously attended Osbaston CIW School, met up after school, you can see that they are confident, smiling and already familiar with their new routines. This is the effect of a carefully executed transition before the end of Year 6 and the thoughtful practices of MCS during the first two weeks of term, which have made for a very smooth transition.
Thank you to the senior teaching staff who have been visible in the classrooms on a daily basis, offering encouragement and also reinforcing the ethos of security to these young learners. Thanks must also go to the administration team at the school, who have looked after the parents, by preparing so many letters and information packs to make sure that the children were where they should be, in the right clothes with the correct equipment and at the right time.
Good luck children in your new school. By the way you all look so smart in your new uniforms (and so grown up!)
